Bengaluru: A young Malayali man and a young woman were found dead following being set on fire in a flat in Bengaluru. The deceased have been identified as Abil Abraham (29), a native of Idukki, and Soumani Das (20), a native of West Bengal.
He was found dead in a flat in Doddagubbi, Kothannur on Sunday evening. Neighbors say that the two settled here together a week ago.
Soumini, a second year nursing student in a private college in Bengaluru, was married. Abil Abraham, who owns a nursing recruitment agency, is single. The initial conclusion is that the fire may have been poured with petrol.
Hearing the screams of both, the neighbors broke the door of the flat and entered. Soumini died before the fire was extinguished, but Abil died on the way to the hospital. Both bodies are in Victoria Hospital.
