Between recovery and cruising speed

After the break, due to the celebration of the celebration of the end of the Ramadan fast, Wednesday April 10, work resumes this Thursday at the Angondjé stadium where the commissioners are still, in all likelihood, struggling to position themselves on the themes that are distributed to them on a daily basis. Themes, they confide, without real clarity on the overall vision and above all, on the objectives to be achieved at the end of the inclusive national dialogue. However, the facilitator in the Gabonese transition, the Central African President, Faustin Archange Touadéra, told his peers at the conference of CEMAC Heads of State, meeting Tuesday in a videoconference session, his satisfaction following the launch and of the progress of the inclusive national dialogue in Gabon.

According to the operational calendar made public by the meeting office, there will be one week of work remaining, so that each sub-committee delivers its copy and the time for sectoral plenaries immediately opens for the validation and adoption of the reports to the within the committees, no later than April 24.

And yet, 48 hours after the opening of the work, many commissioners, speaking on condition of anonymity and in almost all of the twelve (12) sub-committees, are slow to form real benchmarks on the methodology. and the work agenda, as well as the terms of reference which still remain the business of certain insiders, they think.

It is therefore a real challenge which is thus launched to the organizers and to the dialogue office who are asked, beyond the assurances relayed in recent days, to demonstrate a little more sense of organization, of transparency and pragmatism, in order to accelerate this founding dialogue for the new Gabon.

This weekend should, frankly, shift the dialogue into cruising speed, by succeeding in uniting participatory energies around an elaborate methodology, as well as standard and clearly shared terms of reference. The delegates assigned against their will to the various subcommittees, who do not really put their heart into it, expect no less to regain their confidence and invest themselves fully.

It is perhaps also the time, unless it is already done, to involve all these resource people and other people of good will, called upon to bring their expertise and experience on the various matters submitted for debate. At the current rate of development of work, we can no longer afford to do without all the intelligence, contributions and reflections likely to unblock the machine.

dispel doubts and honor international facilitation

If the will and good faith are manifest, it remains true that some hesitations and hesitations are perceptible and prevent completely releasing the energies of many commissioners, to the point of creating distrust and suspicion.

“It’s never too late to do better” proclaims the adage and everything suggests that doubts will very quickly be lifted. The probity, integrity and neutrality recognized by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Libreville, Mgr Jean Patrick Iba-Ba, as well as the majority of those around him in the office of inclusive national dialogue, will hopefully contribute to appease the ardor and guarantee at the Angondjé conference the success expected and desired by all.

The opposite would amount to forcing the facilitator in the Gabonese transition, the Central African president, Faustin Archange Touadéra, already questioned elsewhere, to return to the arena if the screams and jeremiads were to persist and amplify. Who knows ?
