The famous American billionaire, Bill Gates, said on Monday that the technological race that everyone is now seeking to win is to develop the best artificial intelligence tool that radically changes user behavior to the point of disrupting the work of search engines and online shopping sites.
And the Microsoft founder added, “Then, you will not need a search engine again,” and “You will not use Amazon at all.”
During his speech at an event to support artificial intelligence organized by Goldman Sachs and SV Angle in San Francisco, Gates explained that he would be disappointed if Microsoft did not participate in this race, noting that there is a 50 percent chance that the winner of the race will be a startup and not gigantic.
Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft did not respond to requests for comment on Gates’ speech.
Gates expressed his admiration for the company “Inflection AI”, which was co-founded by entrepreneur Reid Hoffman.
Many technology companies are seeking to develop an AI-powered robotic personal assistant that consumers can ask to perform a range of tasks via speech or text.
“Whoever wins the PDA race will win by a hand,” Gates said.
