American singer-songwriter Billy Joel will give his last concert on Thursday at Madison Square Garden, the iconic New York venue where he has had a very long ten-year “residency”, giving one concert per month, which he usually sells out.

No artist had ever signed such a long-term contract with this concert hall located in the centre of the American city, which has hosted not only musical performances but also boxing matches and professional basketball games throughout its history.

The few tickets still available for this historic concert are selling for $441 for the seats furthest from the stage, and go up to $6,300, the amount paid by those in the front rows of the stalls.

Possible guests

Joel, the author of the famous songs ‘Piano Man’, ‘Honesty’ and ‘My Life’, is expected to call on some surprise guests for this last show. In the past he has invited other singers such as Bruce Springsteen and Olivia Rodrigo on stage.

William Martin ‘Billy’ Joel, a Bronx native now in his 75s, is not going to leave the stage after his retirement from the Madison, and in fact already has concerts scheduled in several places in the US in the coming months (Las Vegas, San Antonio, Saint Louis or Cleveland) and even in Cardiff, United Kingdom.
