Die Presse: You have just been to Rome with the bishops. In a way, what were the Christmas wishes you expressed when you met Pope Francis?
Wilhelm Krautwashl: What fascinated me during the two hours was that he is confident despite everything he sees around the world and from what he suffers, starting with Ukraine. He has faith that good will prevail. This is also something that expresses Christmas.

The questions that are also mentioned in our report on the occasion of the Synod (Women’s unequal treatment, more lay people’s codecision; editor’s note), we have repeatedly expressed in the various departments. As is the case with synodality, we then also heard the other side. Many departments said: “Please tell us what your concerns are.” There were no bans on speaking.
