Chennai: The BJP in Tamil Nadu. The leader was hacked to death by a mob while people watched. Dalit Morcha South Chennai district president Balachandran was hacked to death by a group on a bike. The incident took place on Swaminayakar Street in Chintadripet, Chennai.
The group arrived in three bikes and killed Balachandran around 9 pm. Eyewitnesses told police that there were about six people in the gang. Police have intensified the search for the culprits.
Balachandran had earlier been placed under police protection as he had received threats. The assailants, however, broke through and chased him for miles, killing him on a narrow road.
