The Chicago Blackhawks have Luke Reichel called up to the NHL roster from their AHL affiliate, the Rockford Ice Hogs. The club announced this in a press release on Wednesday. They moved with him Brett Seney up from the farm team.
The Blackhawks responded to the injury-related absences of MacKenzie Entwistle (wrist) and Jujhar Khaira (The back). Both were placed on the Injured Reserve List retroactively to December 27.
Reichel is the IceHogs’ second-best scorer with 14 goals and the third-best scorer with 36 points from 32 games. He was used once by the Blackhawks this season. That was in the away loss on December 6th against the New Jersey Devils (0:3). A total of twelve NHL appearances and one assist are recorded for the 20-year-old from Nuremberg.
Seney leads the IceHogs’ scorer ranking with 38 points. He is also the team’s most successful provider of assists with 24 assists.
