Last March, Gims was the guest of the show “Oui Hustle”, broadcast on the YouTube platform on March 22, 2023. Since this morning, an extract has gone viral on social networks.
During the interview, the singer affirms that the blacks were “knights” and that they “populated Europe before being decimated by the whites”. They also had electricity. All of this would be hidden from historians. “Africa is Wakanda, damn it. It’s the future normally with us. At the time of the Kush empire, there was electricity”explains Gims.
“The pyramids that we see, at the top there is gold. Gold is the best conductor for electricity. They were bloody antennas! People had electricity. But now, people can’t understand that. The Egyptians, the science they had, it’s beyond comprehension. And the historians know it!”argues the Congolese artist.
Freewheeling, Gims does not stop there and goes even further in his conspiracy theory. “Africa populated Europe before the Europeans, we called them the Afropeans. They were decimated by the real Europeans, who came from Asia: the Yam Nahade. We already had the notion of chivalry. Today we find paintings that are classified and hidden in catacombs where it is blacks as knights. Of course that already existed.” The singer then concludes with a vengeance. “You just have to know our story. They want us to believe that our story started on a sweaty rowing slave ship. NO.”
Since the excerpt was taken up on social networks, Gims has been mocked and accused of misinformation. Politicians but also French artists reacted, such as Jean Messiha or the rapper Booba.
Since then, Gims has reacted to the controversy on Twitter by posting an article from L’Obs from April 2015, which he believes would support his theory. “It’s crazy!! I was talking about it yesterday with Jean-Claude Van Damme”.
