Lugo, 9 Feb (EFE).- “No doubt, Ana Sandamil Novo.” This response, from a sergeant of the Judicial Police of Lugo, when asked by the person who put an end to the life of the girl Desirée, 7 years old, marked the third session of the trial, where several guards stated that the attitude of the mother and “a lot of blood” raised suspicions.
In the Provincial Court of Lugo, which judges the violent death of the girl on May 3, 2019, this command has told in room that on the stage of the house of Muimenta, where the victim lived, with his mother and maternal grandmother, nothing matched with an accidental intake of pills.
Neither the behavior of the only suspect, who “was fine” and even showed a “non-cooperative” attitude, to the point of being “defensive”, especially when she refused to hand over the tablet and phones, which were tapped; nor the room, ground zero, where the signs of violence were evident.
“I was surprised to see so much blood spread, both on the corpse and on the bed and the floor. And nothing looked like a place where a girl swallowed some pills.” Desirée also had wounds on the upper and lower lip, said this command.
The victim’s father, José Manuel Leal, has cried without consolation and has even had to temporarily leave the room when he saw images and heard the harshest parts of the outcome of his only daughter.
This sergeant recovered the day after the events the pajamas with which Ana Sandamil went to the room of her mother, Maria Novo, to warn her that the baby had died. It was under the bed Ana and Desi slept in.
He was found ” rolled up.” “I had to put pressure and force to get him out. It was difficult for him to accidentally get there because of how he was doing, ” he observed.
Another guard at Castro de Rei’s post has commented that he saw Ana Sandamil “quite calm” while her grandmother was “very upset” and did not want to go to the living room, where her daughter and her ex-husband, José Luis Sandamil, were. “I took her to the next room. I thought it was a little strange.”
Another member of that detachment has indicated that he found Ana Sandamil “very calm, a little too calm”, while the grandmother was “very bad”. And that the defendant told him that the girl had gotten up to go to the kitchen and had not returned, and that when she got out of bed she saw her in the hallway and put her back on the bed.
This was the first agent to talk to Ana and the one who told the father, José Manuel Leal, on the day of the car, what had happened.
The sergeant of Cospeito has confirmed that the grandmother of the girl was “very nervous, very accelerated” and that Ana Sandamil only managed to tell her “I do not know” when she questioned her about what happened, confined in the living room with her father, a place where “nothing was talked about.”
“In my presence, at no time did either of the two come together” in that place or in any other, he said in allusion to Anna and Mary.
Ana Sandamil, 45, asked the members of the investigation section of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Lugo who interviewed her in the emergency area of the Lucus Augusti Hospital for her identification and later refused to sign the statement without letterhead.
One of those agents has explained that if they spoke with her it was because she looked “coherent, totally lucid” and that to do so they asked the father of the accused, José Luis, to leave the box, something to which he agreed without any problem.
Two officers came in, and the male officer came out for a phone call. It was on the way back when his partner informed him that the defendant was asking for their plates, to know who they were.
The agent had shown his credential in previous circuits, before the security and medical personnel, and before the father, but not before her, although he had no problem in doing so, verbally and documented. So did one and the other.

Afterwards, the testimony that they produced with the word processor of a computer that was there, Ana did not want to sign it because “he did not have letterhead” and they had recommended him, without wanting to say who, that not so.
The statement lasted 50 minutes, and until that final part, it had shown “no inconvenience”.
It was before the last two questions when her doubts popped, because she had previously been “cooperative” and told both her suicide attempt and that she had seen the small lying on the floor of the room.
The compañera who took this statement together has stated that she” did not show any kind of hesitation “and that she introduced a contradiction by stating at one point that she had slept with Desi, and at another that the girl had been with her”at times.”
Ana Sandamil told, apart, that at 7 o’clock she had gotten up because of the alarm of the tablet, that she went to the kitchen, smoked a cigar and ate an apple. I’d be in the room by eight.
Of his daughter, he had told them that he had risen to the bathroom, in one part of what he testified, and in another that he saw her lying on the floor, lifted her up and returned her to bed.
Another agent of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Lugo has stressed that the grandmother, on May 3, told her that her daughter was normal and that it was later, not on May 3, when her then and current partner, José Luis, and her maternal uncle, Cirilo, declared that they felt they were persecuting her.
In this session, a healer who works the energy and vibrations to which Ana Sandamil had gone, together with Desirée Leal, on the advice of her mother, and who only told her that she slept worse when the girl was with her father.
However, there were no questions, because in what they hear “the body” and are not guided by what is spoken. He did see her “very aware” of the minor. And he ignored his advice on sports, spa and meditation.
The director of the school in which Desirée was attending primary school stressed that Ana attended the meetings with “normality” and that the tutor of the student did not notice any change “that made think that something was happening at home”.
He did say that before his death he had not gone on a field trip allegedly because his tummy hurt.
In this session, they did not contribute anything to the cause but declared two neighbors of Muimenta. One had allegedly told the other that Ana Sandamil had said that if her ex tried to take the girl away, she would make her disappear. He posted that on Facebook and today he said he didn’t know the reason. The alleged informant, who previously entered, denied the comment.
There has again been shouting, insult and a lot of tension before the trial, which will continue tomorrow.
Ana Sandamil is at stake the revisable permanent prison.
Desirée Leal, whose father, José Manuel, is the private prosecutor, was found dead in the room that mother and daughter shared in Muimenta (Lugo), at the maternal grandmother’s house, with signs of having been forced to ingest a liquid in which a drug that the mother was consuming, called Trazodona, had allegedly dissolved.
During the forensic examination, the body showed signs of mechanical asphyxiation, which would have ultimately led to death.
