Bojan Bogdanovic = Dirk Nowitzki

What would the NBA be without its small declarations, those that punctuate a season at least as much as triple-doubles or buzzer beaters. The latest and who rather challenged us? That of Pistons coach Dwane Casey, who is definitely struggling to be taken seriously in Michigan.

Dwane Casey is a reference in the NBA, whether we like it or not. A star coach, a renowned coach because elected in 2018 Coach Of the Year with the Raptors… before moving to Detroit and seeing – from afar – the Dinos become NBA champions a year later, without him. After making the Toronto franchise LeBron James’ favorite doormat a solid contender in the East, Dwane was expected to transform the Pistons, to accompany them towards a franchise destiny that will count in the future, with a whole bunch of cute young shoots. For four years the truth has been quite different, Detroit has been floundering, and Dwane, therefore, prefers to shout his love to bald 34-year-olds.

The descent is tough, and if we expected Dwane to make the Pistons an exciting team, at first we realize a little late that this good Casey would in fact be more attracted to… the old. Nothing against the Croatian sniper huh, you don’t become the top scorer at the Olympics (in 2016) without talent and you don’t innocently average 20 points in the NBA, but let’s say that the daring comparison by your coach is… daring, precisely, since he puts here on the same raft Bojan Bogdanovic and two MVPs, one of whom (Dirk) is unanimously considered one of the best strikers in the history of basketball.

Does such a punchline declared deserves more attention than that? Oh no. Are we therefore going to stick to these few lines and conclude this article without really concluding it? Yes, yes and yes.
