The head of the Ports and Maritime Navigation Department in Hormozgan province, Hussein Abbas Nejad confirmed there are no technical or port-related challenges impeding this direct line. Although the two countries have a low volume of trade and commodity exchange, economists have urged for a reduction in transport costs and expanded trade by initiating a direct maritime transport line between the two nations.
