Börse Express – Forex: The euro is struggling to stay above 1.06 US dollars

FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The euro struggled to hold $1.06 on Friday. In the early evening, the common currency briefly slipped below it and most recently cost $ 1.0604. The European Central Bank set the reference rate at 1.0619 (Thursday: 1.0621) dollars. The dollar thus cost 0.9417 (0.9415) euros.

In the course of a turbulent week with US inflation data and interest rate hikes by the Fed and the European Central Bank, the euro had at times climbed to its highest level since June at $ 1.0735./ag/men
