Börse Express – ROUNDUP/Sanofi: No bid for Horizon

PARIS / NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The French pharmaceutical company Sanofi
does not want to make an offer for the Irish drug manufacturer Horizon Therapeutics. Sanofi is no longer in talks with Horizon, the group announced on Sunday evening in Paris. The price expectations did not correspond to Sanofi’s criteria, it was said as a reason.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Amgen is located
meanwhile in advanced talks with Horizon, as the newspaper reported on Sunday evening. A takeover is still possible on Monday, it said. The valuation could be over 20 billion US dollars.

At the end of November, Horizon had confirmed preliminary discussions with Amgen, Janssen and Sanofi about a possible purchase offer. Horizon, with around 2,000 employees worldwide, specializes in rare diseases. Revenue was around $3.2 billion in 2021./jha/
