April Darby has the honor of singing with the star from the Zero’s. Not everyone immediately realizes who it is when they hear the first sounds, while Boss B is still hidden. “What I do hear is a wonderful Amsterdam accent,” says April. “I feel like I listened to this voice.” The sound that the secret singer produces, sounds recognizable. “It’s a well-known voice from the past,” says rapper Donnie.
Before the wall goes up, April says this must be Boss B. And that turns out to be the case. One of the hints was Diemen, which refers to the song ‘Mee Naar Diemen-Zuid’. Presenter Jamai Loman wonders whether Boss B still lives there. “No, my father is still there. I will still be there. I live in Amsterdam South,” he says.
April is not the only one who guessed correctly, Donnie and René Froger also got it right. Buddy Vedder, on the other hand, does not. “I’m completely ashamed,” he says. “Because we just play football together.”
Although we don’t hear much from Boss B, he is not sitting still. “I’m currently working on a new, fun project with a singer,” he reveals. “I’m also a psychologist on the side. I combine psychology and music. So I do all kinds of fun things, always with music.”
