Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City performed a skin graft on a person suffering from severe burns. This is notably the first time that the skin of a brain-dead person has been received for such a transplant.

The patient is a 27-year-old man, living in Dông Thap province (Mekong delta). He was transferred to Cho Rây hospital with burns from the 3e degree over 50% of his body.
The donor is a 38-year-old man who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. His family agreed to donate his organs according to his wishes.
Indeed, Cho Rây Hospital received an organ and tissue donation from a brain-dead person and successfully transplanted six patients. His doctors performed a heart transplant, two kidney transplants, two cornea transplants and a skin transplant.
The state of health of all transplant patients is satisfactory.
For the patient who received a heart transplant, his recovery was spectacular, which allowed him to return home in excellent conditions.
