Former Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov, arrested on corruption charges, in 2022 re-registered his MV Agusta motorcycle in his father’s name. This is what RIA Novosti reports.
According to tax returns, Ivanov acquired a motorcycle in his possession in 2019. Data from the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, Auto.ru and AvtoFace confirm the information, RIA Novosti reports. According to AvtoFace, the 2018 motorcycle was registered in Ivanov’s name from March 27, 2019 to June 10, 2022, after which it was re-registered in the name of his father, Vadim Gennadievich.
Data from the National Vehicle Register also confirms the presence of two owners. From March 27, 2019 to June 10, 2022, the motorcycle was registered in the name of a single owner, and from June 10, 2022 to a second owner. The information also matches the Auto.ru account statement.
The motorcycle’s original owner’s insurance policy series indicates an “abandoned” status. The owner of the vehicle was “I**** VG 08/10/1948”, and the policyholder was “I**** TB 08/15/1975”.
It is not yet known whether the sports bike was sold by the son to his father or if he gave it as a gift. Vadim Ivanov is the founder and general director of the Crystal Development company, of which Svetlana Ivanova, the former wife of the deputy minister, is also the founder.
MV Agusta is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer. The sports model, which belonged to Ivanov, is capable of reaching speeds of up to 245 kilometers per hour. According to the websites “Auto.ru” and “Avito”, the cost of the 2018 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 motorcycle ranges from 1.1 to 1.5 million rubles, and its 2023 counterpart costs 2.3 million rubles .
It became known earlier that the court received an appeal against the arrest of Ivanov in a corruption case, reports OTR. He did not admit his guilt in the bribery case on a particularly large scale. Deputy Minister Ivanov’s lawyers requested the transfer of the case to military investigators, reports 360 TV channel.
