South Korea and the United States fired eight surface-to-surface missiles in response to the North’s provocation of eight short-range ballistic missiles.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on the 6th that in response to North Korea’s provocation of a short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) the day before, a total of eight combined surface-to-surface missiles ATACMS were fired into the East Sea from 4:45 a.m. for about 10 minutes. It is known that seven missiles were fired from one side and one from the US side.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said, “The joint South Korea-U.S. surface-to-surface missile firing demonstrated that North Korea has the ability and readiness to strike with precision immediately and precisely against the origin of the provocation and the command and support forces, while maintaining a constant monitoring posture even if North Korea provokes missiles at multiple locations. “I strongly urge you to immediately stop activities that escalate military tensions and aggravate security unrest on the Korean Peninsula,” he said.
