The Los Angeles Dodgers face a commanding 2-0 National League Championship Series deficit against the Milwaukee Brewers following a 7-4 defeat at American Family Field, putting their three-peat aspirations in severe jeopardy as the series shifts.
The Brewers rallied for a 7-4 victory in Game 2 on Monday, overturning three separate deficits and bringing a 2-0 lead to Los Angeles, where the series shifts for Game 3 on Wednesday night.
Contreras Drives Milwaukee Offense
William Contreras powered the Milwaukee offense by driving in three runs and hammering a 436-foot home run to center off Dodgers lefty Kris Bubic during the contest. Contreras became the fourth player with three separate game-tying or go-ahead hits in a postseason game and the first since Sandy Alomar did so for Cleveland in the 1997 ALDS.
This is a team that … competes and fights every pitch,
Contreras said after going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Just very appreciative of that.
Aces Fail to Secure Wins for Los Angeles
Despite handing the ball to their aces, Tarik Skubal and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, in the first two games in Milwaukee, the Dodgers have nothing to show for it as the series heads west. Yamamoto lasted just 2.2 innings, allowing four hits and three runs after managing only four swing-and-misses on 75 pitches.

We’ve got to keep going,
said Brewers captain Christian Yelich, whose two-out, two-run single off Yamamoto gave Milwaukee its first lead in the 3-2 comeback. We haven’t accomplished anything yet. It was a good start. But still a long way to go.
