British actress Angela Lansbury dies aged 96

Angela Lansbury, star of the series “Arabesque”, died on Tuesday, five days before her 97th birthday.

He was an essential face of television in the 80s and 90s. British actress Angela Lansbury, star of the “Arabesque” series, died on Tuesday at the age of 96, her family announced to American media.

The actress “died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Los Angeles (…), just five days before her 97th birthday,” her relatives told the press.

For twelve seasons, broadcast from 1984 to 1996, Angela Lansbury played the detective writer Jessica Fletcher in the series “Arabesque”, an iconic crime soap opera. Raised to the rank of Dame Commander by Elizabeth II in 2014, the legend has since gone by the name Dame Angela Lansbury.

Last June, the actress received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 75th Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Indeed, if she marked the history of television with Arabesque, the actress has also appeared in many films from 1944 to 2018.
