The Brussels firefighters were called this Sunday around 19h35 for an intervention in a garden located rue Joseph 2 in Brussels. Earlier, neighbors had heard calls for help from the garden side coming from the house. On the spot, the firefighters discovered a lady, conscious, at the bottom of the well located in her garden. Very quickly, the RISC team (Rescue in Safe conditions) firefighters and SMUR ont were dispatched to the scene. “The owner of the house found herself in the well regarding ten meters deep, when the slabs of the terrace which covered the hole gave way. She fell vertically into the hole“, detailed Walter Derieuw, spokesperson for the Brussels fire brigade. And to continue: “She was pulled out of her awkward position by one of the RISC teams using a harness. She remained conscious throughout the operation.“
The victim suffered, among other things, from open fractures to the lower limbs. It remains to determine the possible responsibilities in this incident.
