The open conflict between Ecolo and PS on the Josaphat wasteland leads to a dismaying spectacle for the outside observer.
By Julian Thomas
PS and Ecolo tear each other apart. Doors slam, ministers shun meetings, accusations fly from both sides. “It’s not me, it’s the other”, we hear in each camp. In recent weeks, the Josaphat wasteland has caused strong tensions within the Brussels team of Rudi Vervoort (PS). In the end, greens and reds will stay together until the May 2024 election. It is out of the question for them to let the MR enter government. But at what cost ! That of an unpleasant sight. And incomprehensible to the outside observer.
