A pedestrian in his sixties lost his life Friday evening after being struck by a pick-up in Rivière-Rouge, in the Laurentians region.
The man was walking north on rue de L’Annéquence Nord, around 5:30 p.m., when a vehicle hit him, said the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.
The victim was on a shoulder at the edge of the traffic lane since no sidewalk is on this part of the road, it was specified.
Transported in critical condition to a hospital center, the pedestrian’s death was unfortunately noted a few hours later.
