Beliris informed the Brussels Region on Monday of the receipt of two commercial offers for the “civil engineering of the tunnel & stations” of the metro project between the Gare du Nord and Bordet.
”After an initial analysis by Beliris, it appears that the amount of the offers greatly exceeds the updated estimates. The government intends to assume its responsibilities both for the development of the public transport offer and for budgetary sustainability”, specified the Brussels ministers, at the end of the meeting.

The Brussels executive has further clarified, via the Belga agency, that it wishes to initiate a dialogue with the federal government and Beliris, which it asks to “provide it with an in-depth analysis of the offers making it possible to objectively identify the reasons for the discrepancy between updated estimates and commercial offers”.
The Vervoort team has also indicated that it would ask the Federal government to examine its capacity for greater participation in this North metro project.
