Less than a month until the start of Europe’s largest conference focused exclusively on bitcoin – BTC Prague.
According to estimates, the conference in Prague will provide an estimated 10,000 participants over 3 days with various programs, workshops and many exciting presentations. Among the 150 performers appearing on the stages, we can also see such crypto-figures as Michael Saylor, who stacks bitcoin upon bitcoin, for whom this will be his first (personal) performance on a European stage, British-born cypherpunk Adam Back, or “What is Money?” Robert Breedlove is known for his podcast series.
In parallel with the stage program, the expo itself will take place, with the participation of more than 100 companies focused on building the Bitcoin infrastructure.
The newcomers are in the spotlight
The event, which will be held between June 8 and 10, is expected to spark the interest of newcomers in addition to the summer. One of the main efforts of the organizers of BTC Prague is to appeal not only to experienced Bitcoin fans, but also to those who have heard of Bitcoin, but are not yet fully aware of its exact nature and usefulness.
“In the current complex economic situation, when we all feel the effects of inflation, uncertainties surrounding the stability of banks or high interest rates, Bitcoin proves to be a kind of lifeboat. Today it is certainly riskier not to have it than to have it. That is why we want to put a lot of emphasis on newcomers, to make it easier for them to enter the world of Bitcoin and practically show them how to do it” says Martin Kuchař.
Martin is an important figure in the local crypto scene. Together with his brother, Mátyas, they are responsible for organizing the successful Bitcoin event ChainCamp, held annually. ChainCamp has been part of the Czech cryptosphere since 2020. Every year more than 2,000 fans gather in the city of Ostrava, located in the eastern part of the country, at the event, which is becoming more and more popular every year.
The Czech Republic is the perfect location for an event about bitcoin
The fact that the largest and most important Bitcoin conference is held in Prague is of symbolic importance, since according to Martin Kuchař, the Czech Republic is the “Bitcoin Valley” of the crypto world, and Prague could be called one of the capitals of Bitcoin. After all, many revolutionary projects that played a key role in the adoption of the world’s largest cryptocurrency were created in the Czech Republic. We can mention, for example, SatoshiLabs’ hardware wallet, Trezor, Braiins’ first mining pool or even General Bytes’ bitcoin ATM. “I see BTC Prague as another project that reinforces the importance of the Czech Republic for Bitcoin” Kuchař added.
Stephan Livera, popular Bitcoin believer, is a complete podcast broadcast dedicated to the organizer of the event, with whom they discussed the role of bitcoin in the Czech Republic, the population’s relationship with bitcoin, and, of course, the conference itself during a 45-minute conversation.
We can confidently say that the directors have thought of everything, because if we were to work off the divine local beers we had consumed, or move our rears that were sitting flat during the performances, we have the opportunity on a proof-of-work basis of a 5-kilometer joint on a run to participate, during which we can gain an insight into the heart of historical Prague.
