Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his country will impose new sanctions on Russia over the referendum on joining Russia in Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
“In response to the ongoing escalation, we intend to impose new sanctions against individuals and entities involved in this latest attempt to undermine the principles of state sovereignty,” Trudeau said in a statement issued on his official website.
He pointed out that Canada “does not and will never recognize” the results of this referendum.
