Motorists will soon be able to earn Canadian Tire dollars by filling up at Petro-Canada, the Canadian retailer announced on Wednesday, announcing a partnership with the oil company.
Under the agreement, approximately 200 Canadian Tire gas stations will be converted to Petro-Canada gas stations over the next few years.
The partnership also prevents a twinning of the Triangle Reward loyalty programs of Canadian Tire and Petro-Point.
“Through this new partnership, Canadian Tire Corporation will expand the reach of its Triangle Rewards program from more than 200 gas bars to a network of more than 1,800, which will […] even more opportunities for members to earn CT Money,” said retailer President and CEO Greg Hicks.
The two companies will still retain “full ownership and absolute control of [leur] respective loyalty program,” it was clarified.
The agreement also provides that Canadian Tire service stations will henceforth be supplied with fuel by oil company Suncor, which owns the Petro-Canada chain.
