Car plunges from cliff onto house in Bogor, occupant dies

Jakarta — Tragedy struck Cimanggu Village in the cibungbulang District of‌ Bogor Regency⁣ on Sunday morning, January 19, 2025, when⁤ a minibus veered off a‍ cliff and crashed into a residential home. The accident claimed the life of a 67-year-old woman ‍identified by ⁤her initials, RI, ⁤who was‌ sitting on her terrace ⁣at the time.

According to Ipda Ferdhyan Mulya, Head of‍ the Gakkum Satlantas Bogor Police, the incident occurred around 11:00 AM ⁣local time. “That’s right, it happened at⁤ around 11.00 WIB. One⁢ person died, ⁤a woman who was ‌sitting in front of the house, initials RI (67),” he stated.The vehicle, identified as a ⁤Grand Max with license plate ‍B-203-PL, had ​been traveling from a narrow ⁤alley onto a village road when it ⁣lost control​ and plummeted off the cliff, landing on ⁢the house below.

“When we arrived ⁣at the crime scene,the ⁣car moved straight,fell into a resident’s house wich was‍ approximately 2 meters away from the road,” Ferdhyan explained. The impact caused the car to⁣ roll over, striking RI, who was on her ⁢terrace. “Then it rolled over ⁣the house and a woman (RI) who was in‌ front of her house, resulting in a traffic accident,” ⁣he ⁤added.

Despite being rushed to Leuwiliang regional Hospital,RI succumbed to ⁤her ‍injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival. “The ​victim suffered‌ injuries, then died ‌at Leuwiliang ‌Regional Hospital,” Ferdhyan confirmed.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety, ‌notably in areas with challenging terrain.⁢ authorities are‍ investigating the exact cause of the accident to prevent similar tragedies in⁤ the future.
