The mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía Gómez, wrote an emotional message on social networks in honor of her deceased mother, former first lady Rosa Gómez de Mejía.
“I will kiss and hug you always with my heart and soul”posted on her Instagram account (@carolinamejiagomez).
Carolina shared the last photos she took with her mother along with the message “I will kiss and hug you forever with my heart and soul”.
She also wrote that she will always continue to live in the hearts of those who love her.
In a carousel of photos shared by the mayor, mother and daughter are seen looking into each other’s eyes and hugging.
“From your sowing we will continue reaping fruits. I love you mommy”ended the message.
Rosa Gomez de Mejia, wife of former President Hipólito Mejía (2000-2004), died last Monday of a heart attack. Her remains were entombed in the Memorial Garden.
