—Why should the people of San Lorenzo elect you as president of the club?

—Because I am prepared to govern San Lorenzo and it is no coincidence that I am the only candidate who published his CV. I have verifiable and successful management experience in other areas, added to 10 years of management experience in the club. I am the only candidate for president who is not going to say on Monday I didn’t know what I was going to find. Therefore we are the only space that has the tools to make the necessary decisions. For all these reasons and because I am the only one of the candidates who has never approved a single thing that led us to this present, the members are going to accompany us with their vote.

What would be your first measures at the club and in professional football?

—Immediate presence in the AFA to recover the centrality and prominence that we should never have lost and protect the interests of our club. We are going to value the SAN Lorenzo brand. It is imperative because it will generate resources of magnitude, this accompanied by a foreign ministry policy for the opening of markets targeting China, Arab countries, India, Spain, Italy and the Latin community in the United States. We hope to have the acceptance of Julio Lamas as the club’s sports director. We are going to launch a membership campaign to reach 50 thousand more members in the first year of management, a figure that will allow us to enjoy greater economic independence and political sovereignty. Improve the quality of member service with a strong investment in technology so that the response to the member and their demands or needs can be satisfied in a timely manner. We are going to provide legal status to the clubs so that they can have greater scope in each of their cities. We will carry out an audit and then initiate all civil and criminal actions before the club’s disciplinary court. And I will also call on all spaces to work for another San Lorenzo except for those who brought us to this present.

We will take a 180º turn in the management of professional football: I will manage it directly with Insúa, without intermediaries. If there was a manager, his role would be advisory. Like finances, professional football will be a non-delegable function as president. Insúa with us has guaranteed continuity, I met with him for the first time, to give him our support, a year ago when we had not yet won two games in a row. And we will continue with his method, leaving the doors of professional football open to the lower divisions, since this matrix, in addition to providing identity and belonging, in the medium term will generate significant resources that will contribute to the economic balance of the club while at the same time being a stimulus for promising players who will have our club as a priority option for their career. Regarding reinforcements, I already spoke with Insúa, we will bring the reinforcements he needs. There are 7. But the guideline will be quality over quantity and we will privilege management from club to club in the region and without intermediaries. There are no more intermediaries to incorporate players from the country or region; They are a loss for the club in unnecessary commissions. We will do everything in our power to keep Batalla and Altamirano in the goal. With the reinforcements we will have a more protagonist game, a more offensive approach. Finally, a player who does not renew his contract one year before its expiration will not play until his continuity is signed. The Reserve coaching staff must be at the complete disposal of the Primera coaching staff. A very oiled and articulate relationship is required. The Reserve must be the support, the pillar and support the needs and demands of the professional team and its coaching staff. We will invest in scouting at the national level and will have a network in the region to detect talent. And we will not give up players to our competitors. From Monday we will take care of San Lorenzo in the AFA, occupying the place we deserve as one of the big three of Argentine football.

The youth football plans begin with the decision to keep Fernando Berón as general coordinator. I want him to retire in San Lorenzo, but we will have to give him all the tools and support that he has not been given to date. They have wasted his ability. The strongest investment in addition to professional football will be in youth football, bringing in the best professionals in medicine, nutrition, physical preparation and technical directors. That will make a difference in the projection of the players in the future. Technical coordination and muscular strength that are not incorporated between the ages of 13 and 17 are difficult to achieve. We must not skimp on resources in the training stage. Likewise, the 20 members of the Board of Directors will be following all the matches of the different divisions throughout the year, safeguarding the club’s main assets. We will go through the property in Ezeiza and also to obtain properties close to the sports city. We have an infrastructure limitation that we must unblock and resolve promptly so as not to slow down the development and better preparation and training of our youth. The youth divisions are one of the club’s main assets and will be a vital ally in the recovery of the club’s economy.

—There is a consensus among the four candidates and that is that, for the first months of management, an economic injection would be needed to overcome the particular and general crisis. How would you achieve it?

—We are clear about the real situation that we will find. We have the necessary economic and financial backing to contribute what is required in the face of the unavoidable and enforceable obligations that we will have to face in the first six months of management. In parallel with our arrival to the club’s government, we will be accompanied by a significant number of companies that want to link their brands with CASLA as sponsors. But they don’t do it because they pretend to have serious leadership. They know us and know our seriousness, which is why they will accompany us, generating an income of vitally significant resources throughout the first year of management while at the same time income is enhanced thanks to the increase in the corporate mass and subscriptions, among other reasons, for play on days and times consistent with our greatness and for the enhancement of the SAN Lorenzo brand in addition to the income from sports clothing with the new company that will dress San Lorenzo by terminating with Nike due to the unsatisfactory and non-compliance with the provision in your charge. We are going to ignore those debts that are not documented. That will reduce the club’s liabilities by approximately 25 percent.

—What plan do you have for Avenida La Plata?

—The stadium on Avenida La Plata is a commitment that we assume with total conviction, on which we are going to work from Monday, beginning with the call for an international open public competition for offers for the construction of the stadium together with the Central Society of Architects, to be held in February, with a prestigious jury that will ensure the transparency of its results and guarantee members that the proposal that is chosen will be the best for the club and not the product of a negotiation at the club’s expense. The competition will take a year, then we will have another year of bureaucracy with construction permits and in 2026 the construction of the stadium will begin, which will take two years. Having Christian “Turco” Mera as vice president is also a significant message of our commitment since he was one of the five main promoters of the Vuelta a Boedo and the recovery of the property. I have no doubt that we will be playing on Avenida La Plata in 2028.
