Chelsea terminate Barkley’s contract by mutual consent

Chelsea terminate the contract of English midfielder, Ross Barkley, following 100 games he played with the team since 2018.

Chelsea announced today, Monday, the termination of the contract of the English midfielder, Ross Barkley, by mutual consent, to become a free player.

Chelsea said, in a statement, “Barkley joined our team in January 2018, coming from Everton, and played 100 games, during which he scored 12 goals.”

Barkley won a number of championships with Chelsea, such as the European League, the Club World Cup, and the FA Cup.

It is reported that Barkley has played 33 matches with the England national team, but he has been absent from the “Three Lions” since 2019, and his name is linked to a return to his former club, Everton. There were also reports of interest from Fulham.
