As October is in full swing in Chicago, the city welcomes a weekend full of fall fun including cultural festivals, neighborhood events, and the Chicago Marathon. Brewery Collaborations and Open-Air Wine Celebrations

In the Ravenswood Corridor, Dovetail Brewery and Begyle Brewing team up once again for their annual Oktoberfestiversary, spanning two days of music, food, and beer across multiple locations including 1800 W. Cuyler Ave., 4114 N. Ravenswood Ave., and 1820 W. Belle Plaine Ave. The festival benefits the local food pantry The Friendship Center, featuring two stages of live music, children’s activities, and local food vendors.

Chicago Fashion Week 2026 I Daytime Chicago

A short distance away in Jonquil Park, the Lincoln Park Wine Fest celebrates its 10th anniversary. The open-air tasting event features sessions for reds, whites, and specialty pours alongside local food vendors, with general admission priced at $30 and VIP tickets at $67.50.

For those seeking immersive arts, Visceral Dance Chicago’s “TAKE” opens this Friday with performances running through Oct. 25. Created by Artistic Director Nick Pupillo, the production pairs an electronic recorded score with live music and contemporary choreography at $45 per ticket.

Neighborhood cultural events span nearly every corner of the city. In West Town, the Salt Shed hosts a Fall Arboretum Open House featuring vintage vendors, music, arcade games, and free tree distributions courtesy of the Morton Arboretum while supplies last.   • Englewood Village Market: Operating this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the market showcases Black-owned businesses, low-cost fresh produce, and community resources ahead of its final October date.

Marathon Weekend and Sports Rivalries

The citywide momentum culminates on Sunday with the Chicago Marathon, where participants finish their 26.2-mile journey in Grant Park after traversing 29 neighborhoods. Spectators can line the route to cheer on runners and enjoy live entertainment.

For sports fans looking for indoor gatherings, the historic Ramova Theatre in Bridgeport (3520 S. Halsted St.) hosts a Chicago Bears versus Green Bay Packers watch party on a 40-foot screen. The event is free to the public, with VIP tables available for purchase.
