The 12th edition of the Children without Cancer solidarity race, “Imagine for Margo”, took place on Sunday September 24, 2023. Here is everything you need to remember from this event.

Where and when did this race take place?

The 12th edition of this “Children without Cancer” solidarity race took place on Sunday September 24 at the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, near Paris, and connected from the location of your choice. Nearly 6,200 participants were present and 2,310,000 euros were collected.

An exceptional mobilization

Thanks to their mobilization and the generosity of more than 22,000 donors and numerous partners of the association, a magnificent check for 2,310,000 euros was given to the researchers in order to finance 9 research programs selected during the call for 2023 projects Fight Kids Cancer. This sum will be supplemented by that collected during other races organized, the same weekend, in Luxembourg, Belgium and Spain by the partner associations of Imagine for Margo. In total, more than nearly 4,300,000 euros will be allocated to research into pediatric cancers.

A word from the founding president

Patricia Blanc, Founding President of the Imagine for Margo association: “Thanks to the mobilization and support of our partners, donors and runners, we have, once again, brought Margo’s message to life: Go, Fight, Win ! Indeed, every year now a blue and pink human tide surges, on the last weekend of September in Gold, against this scourge which affects more than 35,000 children and adolescents in Europe. It is by continuing to act together that we will defeat the disease and that we will be able to move towards a world with cancer-free children.”

What is the Children without Cancer solidarity race?

The Children Without Cancer solidarity race was launched in 2012 and has become one of the largest solidarity races in Europe. This is an opportunity to mobilize around the cause of childhood cancer and to collect donations for research. Each participant must collect a minimum of 200 euros (100 euros for minors/students) to validate their registration, by appealing to donors in order to raise awareness of pediatric cancers. 100% of donations collected by participants are allocated to research.

What you need to know about “Imagine for Margo”

The “Imagine for Margo” association was created in 2011, following the death of Margo at the age of 14 from a brain tumor. It works to accelerate research into pediatric cancers by carrying out awareness-raising, mobilization and fundraising actions to help European research develop specific, innovative and more effective treatments for children with cancer.
