Beijing: China has executed the father and his girlfriend who threw their first wife’s toddler from the 15th floor and killed them to live with their girlfriend.
The children’s father, Zhang Bo, and his girlfriend, Ye Chengchen, were executed on Wednesday, Chinese Daily reported. Both were executed by injecting poison. The sentence was carried out two years after the Chinese Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of both.
The brutal murder took place in 2020. Sang Bo threw his two-year-old daughter and one-year-old son down from the window of their 15th-floor apartment and killed them. His girlfriend Ye Chengchen was sentenced to death for inciting him to kill the children.
Sang Bo’s brutality comes when he is reaching an agreement with his first wife regarding custody of the children after the divorce. Ye Chengchen’s concern that the children would interfere with their online life led to the brutality. Sang Bo establishes a relationship with Ye Chengchen by hiding the fact that he is married and has two children from this relationship. Ye had threatened Sang Bo, including withdrawing from the relationship, who refused to spare the children. Both of them also tried to make it appear that the children’s death was an accident. Both were sentenced to death in 2021. However, the execution of the sentence has been delayed due to several appeals by the accused to various courts.
