May 1st, day of international struggle, honor and disobedience

With a New Labor Movement and a strong anti-capitalist left for Bread-Work-Peace-Freedom

This year’s Labor Day finds workers around the world in major mobilizations and strikes. From France, Britain, Portugal, Greece and Germany to Latin America and Asia the peoples are rising against precision, austerity, the attack on insurance and labor rights, the privatization of basic social goods and the plundering of public wealth and nature. All this is accompanied by harsh repression and wars. The policies of governments of conservative, social democratic and other variations they are so alike because they serve the interests of capital, intensify the exploitation of man and nature and want to put the crisis of the system on the backs of the people. For this our struggles need a strong anti-capitalist and revolutionary left that will put the issue of conflict with the rotten system, will not stay in the middle of the road, it will project a modern liberating communist program in the perspective of the class social emancipation of workers and society from the shackles of capital.

The outgoing ND government with the tolerance and consent of the opposition forces SYRIZA-PASOK has criminal responsibilities for the policy that counts thousands of dead – at the borders, in the hospitals, on the tracks, while it has ensured that we get more and more involved in the dangerous US – NATO – EU war games, while at the same time, in full collusion with the BSE and the business groups, he distributes crumbs thinking that in this way he will face popular anger. A typical example is the increase in the minimum wage to 780 euros, the various passes, the baskets of shame, but also the attack on the right to health, education, insurance and others.

As if all this was not enough, the government, wanting to prevent the explosion of labor and popular anger, implements the Hatzidakis anti-labor strike and tries to put the right to strike and every trade union right in plaster. With the courts and with repression it seeks to strike down the organized resistance and struggle of the workers against its anti-people policy, giving land and water to capital to increase its profitability.

Government and employer unionism facilitate or support this policy as it is confined to the limits of the consensus of social partnership. While the people and youth were taking to the streets in anger demanding the removal of the murderous private economic criteria in every aspect of life, the democratic rights and freedoms against the repression, the GSEE held a conference in Kavouri in the specifications of the Hatzidakis law and other forces refused the continuation and escalation of conflicts.
