Climate Mexico, today January 19, 2023: Rains, strong winds and frosts

The weather forecast for this one Thursday January 19 indicates that, at night, the approach of a new cold front in the northwest of Mexicoassociated with a polar trough and with the polar jet stream, will cause isolated rains in Baja Californiastrong winds with dust storms and the possible snow fall and/or sleet in mountains of said entity.

During the day, the current cold front number 25 will extend from the northeast of the Gulf of Mexico to Veracruz, it will interact with a low pressure channel and it will acquire stationary characteristics, causing showers in Veracruz, Puebla and Oaxaca, as well as isolated rains in Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí and Hidalgo.

On the other hand, a second channel of low pressure and the entry of humidity from the Caribbean Sea will cause intervals of showers in ChiapasYucatan and Quintana Roo.

Wind and wave forecast

  • North component wind with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h: Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
  • Wind with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h in the Gulf of California, Yucatan, Quintana Roo and on the coast of Sonora; with possible dust storms in Baja California, Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Coahuila and Nuevo León.
  • Waves from 1 to 3 meters high: western coasts of the Baja California Peninsula.

Forecast for the Valley of Mexico
