The police reported that a Romanian coach was traveling with completely defective and damaged brake system compressed air tanks: This defect meant that all of the bus’s brakes no longer worked – a threat to traffic safety. The driver was therefore forbidden to continue driving and the license plates were removed.
But the officers also found what they were looking for in other vehicles: fake Belgian license plates were found on a trailer – they were confiscated and the driver was reported.
Overall, according to police information, the priority checks were:
- 74 reports submitted due to technical defects
- 3 license plates removed due to imminent danger
- 5 vehicles are prohibited from continuing their journey
- 1 fake license plate seized
- Several thousand euros in security lines were collected on site
