After the controversy caused by the delivery of an ambulance and a health post, supposedly with contributions from the FARC dissidents, in San Juan de Micay, El Tambo, Cauca, the Army assures that the ambulance is purchased with the savings of the community, which they had to fix the roads in the area.

“The ambulance was purchased with the resources that the farmers had, belonging to the different communities of the Micay canyon. “Those moneys that they had saved for the maintenance of the third-order roads were used to buy an ambulance, which would allow them to remove the wounded and dead, a product of the military operations that have been carried out in recent weeks, this is the true reality.” says General Federico Mejía, commander of the Cauca Specific Command.

Regarding this fact, General Mejía announced that operations in the area will continue and will also intensify in the Cauca Pacific.

“In the last few hours, we have had a series of combats and clashes against the ‘Dagoberto Ramos’ and ‘Carlos Patiño’ structures, leaving some of their members injured. Operations continue in this sector and in the town of El Plateado, in Algeria, where there will be a stronger offensive on these areas and the Cauca Pacific,” explains the commander.

According to the general, these structures would be looking for new outlets to the south of the country, to move their finances resulting from drug trafficking, which is why it is necessary to redouble the offensive in both the north and the south of the department of Cauca. “The community has told me, but they can’t speak because they can act against them or banish them,” he says.
