Kochi: KP Abhijit, a state hockey player and a student of St. Albert’s College, was expelled from the hostel. The action was taken on the grounds that the District Scheduled Caste Development Officer K. Sandhya and the driver Shaji were attacked. A complaint was raised that Abhijit was hit by a vehicle when he tried to stop the district officer who had reached the hostel. Abhijit was hit when he tried to stop the vehicle from leaving the hostel. The injured Abhijit was admitted to the hospital.
District Officer K. Sandhya reaches the hostel and informs that they have decided to take back the suspended warden and expel Abhijit. Questioning this, Abhijit made a fuss. It was informed that he was expelled from the college due to insufficient attendance and therefore he will be expelled from the hostel. This was the protest.
