This Monday evening, the daily published an article in which we read that the tone would have risen between Catherine Moureaux (PS) and her alderman Abdellah Achaoui (PS) during a college.
The origin of the story: the dismissal of a municipal official about which there was disagreement between socialists. The alderman would have mentioned Catherine Moureaux’s father, former socialist mayor of Molenbeek, considering him the best manager. The daughter of Philippe Moureaux, the current mayor, would not have digested it, and would have violently expelled him from his office, scratching him in the process.

It is precisely this moment that attracts all the attention. The other socialist aldermen, present at the time of the events, and their liberal colleagues who would have heard the cries, did not speak out publicly. And if La Capitale briefly mentions scratches, a medical certificate implying a work stoppage for Achaoui who is currently in Turkey (the trip having nothing to do with the incident), and a complaint to the police, which did not ultimately not filed.
Thirty minutes after the events, the press already contacted the mayor of Molenbeek, who deduced that it was her alderman who brought out the information. This is the reason why Catherine Moureaux contacted the Party’s vigilance commission, before being imitated by Abdellah Achaoui.
Contacted, the mayor of Molenbeek does not rule out filing a complaint for defamation. But she also does not deny that there was a disagreement between her and her alderman. “This is defamation. I didn’t physically hurt anyone. It’s completely unbearable.”
