Corsair MP700 PRO SE in the test: Improved PCIe5 debut

2024-05-09 13:00:00

With the new Corsair MP700 PRO SE, we are testing a new representative of today’s PCIe5 generation. With a read speed of up to 14 GB/s, Corsair promises maximum performance while optimizing heat generation. In our test, we check how well this works in everyday life and whether the MP700 PRO SE can reach the top of our comparison lists.

The increasingly complex nomenclature of solid state drives in Corsair’s portfolio gets another iteration: the new MP700 PRO SE extends the previous top model to include the letters “SE”, which can probably be read as a special edition. Our test sample has a capacity of 4 TB and comes different from the Corsair MP700 PRO as a version without active cooling. Corsair offers a total of five models, 2 and 4 TB each with water and air cooling, as well as our sample, which comes without cooling. In addition to the range itself, it is pleasing that Corsair is increasingly following the trend of offering higher capacity.

Before we take a closer look at the Corsair MP700 PRO SE and put it through its paces, we’ll take a look at the datasheet. It is not difficult to see that we detect some similarities with the previous NON-SE.
