Quebec hospitals currently have 3,381 patients treated for COVID-19.

A total of 286 people are being treated in intensive care, 4 more than the previous day’s data.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) specifies that hospitals have recorded 303 new admissions and 222 discharges in the past 24 hours.

The latest report indicates that the average of new cases recorded over the past seven days stands at 7,327, a drop of just over 9% since the previous day.

With 54 new deaths, the toll now stands at a total of 12,364 since the start of the pandemic.

For the past week, 412 people have been killed by COVID-19 in Quebec. This brings the average daily death to 59, compared to 5 per day last December.

At the height of the crisis, authorities had reported 153 deaths on April 29, 2020, the worst day since the arrival of the coronavirus.

The MSSS also reports 1,624 active outbreaks in Quebec.

It also reports that 32,646 tests were performed yesterday, for a positivity rate of 13.1%.

Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation, since access to screening centers is only accessible to groups deemed to be priority.

On the vaccination front, 75,667 vaccines have been administered in Quebec in the past 24 hours, of which 69,793 were booster doses (3rd dose).

Currently, at least 90% of Quebecers over the age of five have received a first dose of vaccine, 82% have received two doses and 32% have had three, according to data from the MSSS.
