COVID-19 report in Quebec February 8, 2023

After several weeks of decreases, hospitalizations linked to COVID-19 have started to rise once more, according to the latest report.

Health authorities reported 15 new hospitalizations on Wednesday, for a total of 1,385, including 438 patients who are being treated specifically for the disease.

In intensive care, 32 people are treated in all, including 14 patients due to COVID-19, which represents an increase of two.

Just over 1,800 healthcare professionals are absent for illness-related reasons.

Wednesday’s report also announces four new deaths, three of which occurred two to seven days ago and one more than seven days ago.

In addition, 612 new infections have been officially reported, a figure certainly underestimated due to the restricted access to screening centers. Quebecers reported 37 rapid tests on Tuesday, including 29 that turned out to be positive.

On the vaccination side, 1717 doses were administered on Tuesday.
