A study has looked at the correlation between vaccination and the contraction of Pims, in children who have not contracted Covid, reports Futura Health.
Some cases of Pims, this generalized inflammatory complication which is revealed in a few rare children who have had Covid, have appeared in children who had not contracted the virus. Being all vaccinated, these cases prompted scientists to wonder about the causal link between the injection and the complication.
In collaboration with other specialists, the scientists of the Center for Diseases Controle (CDC) analyzed a panel of 21 adolescents aged 12 to 20, all with Pims and vaccinated. Among them, 12 went through intensive care.
No obvious link
6 of these 21 teenagers showed no trace of Covid infection. It was they who mainly interested scientists, who made observations about them after examining them. They concluded that there was no no link between vaccination and the contraction of Pims. « The contribution of vaccination to this disease is unknown “, they concluded in The Lancet Child and Adolescent Heath.
As a reminder, the cases of PIMS concern only one child or adolescent out of 1 million infected vaccinated.
