A 48-year-old woman was fatally run over by a truck on Friday morning in a Laval commercial parking lot.
The tragedy occurred around 8 a.m., in front of a convenience store located at the corner of Le Carrefour and Le Corbusier boulevards.
According to a witness met at the scene, the driver of a truck from a food distribution company was backing into the parking lot and did not see the pedestrian who was walking.
The latter passed under the wheels of the heavyweight and had no chance. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was covered with a yellow blanket.
The truck driver had to be taken to hospital for severe nervous shock.
The scene of the accident was protected by a security perimeter and collision scene investigators from the Laval police were on the scene in the morning to try to establish the cause and the circumstances of the tragedy.
