Demands

As a result, this Monday, December 11, the 170 customs officers began a series of actions, the first being to go on strike at Liège airport since Monday morning. “In order not to disrupt citizens’ vacations and the economic activities of companies, we invite the Minister of Finance to take two measures: the application of a moratorium on the services in successive shifts – shift schedule – of customs services and open a social consultation in the presence of the ministers concerned by our demands.”

They are far from being inactive

Among these, let us cite among others the recognition for the customs services to be considered as a civil, public and military security service to derogate from the law of December 14, 2000 establishing certain aspects of the organization of working time in the sector public or even respectful and sustainable solutions in terms of scheduling, particularly when requesting leave and on the planning tool, taking into account the arduousness of the customs officer profession, an increase in the allowance for port of weapons or even carrying out an analysis of psychosocial risks for all customs services.

The strike which began this Monday is planned for a minimum duration of 24 hours. The distribution of packages departing from the airport has therefore just come to a major halt.
