No, the actor’s track record includes about 80 works – and the viewer absolutely remembers him in the comedy “Bitter!”, And in the series “Trigger”, “Owl”, “Molodezhka”.
Danila’s new work is the TV series “A Woman in a Divorce” (KION), where the actor plays the role of Vadim, the neighbor of the main character (Maria Mashkova), who is constantly doing repairs and comes into conflict with a neighbor.
– Danila, tell us about your character in the premiere series “A Woman in a Divorced Woman”. What is this character?
– It was a long time ago, the series was filmed in 2019, we live in a different time. But I’ll try to remember. Character? Hermit. What I am now! Unsociable, sharp-tongued. Man of action: said – done. If you don’t like something, say it. If you like something, praise it. Taciturn. Approximately such a Russian, in the best sense of the word, a man.
“Thirty-year-olds don’t really believe in love”
– Did you read in the heroes the characteristic features of people of the generation of 30-year-olds, to which you belong?
– Looking at friends, I often see that they are offended guys abandoned by women. Or they had to leave the relationship on their own. They don’t really believe in love. Adapt to live. Approximately such thirty-year-olds are around me. I don’t particularly observe happy people: marriages, couples or families – I don’t see them. I hope this will change by the age of forty.
– In addition to cinema and TV series, you were not alien to the theater. And they said that with a friend Nikita Panfilov they were going to organize an enterprise. Did it succeed?
– According to the schedules, it was not possible to combine everything in such a way that it worked out. And in general, about 10 years ago, I moved away from the theater and the entreprise (sighs heavily). It does not seduce somehow. I only like cinema. In addition to my ten hobbies (woodcarving, shooting, jewelry, painting, poetry, illusionism, music, etc.).
– I don’t want to seem rude, so I’ll formulate the question carefully, knowing how sensitive artists are to this. You have under 80 projects in cinema. But the main roles of them – let’s say, the main and powerful – are not so many. Have you thought about this topic? Why is that? Is the problem in the material, the absence of “your” director, or in the image (taking into account the dimensions and texture) perceived by the directors? By analogy with basketball, which you played, the center will never be put in the point guard position.
– Well, why, I have about 17 full-length films, of which about 7 are the main roles. Perhaps you just don’t know about it, because these films did not have a large-scale promotional campaign: “Superbad”, “Deadly Men”, “The Blues”, “I Will Live”, “Running”. These are quite big roles. The detective series “Owl” became a superhit: on Channel Five it has off-scale ratings, this is one of the most interesting works and characters (the actor played a surgeon who discovered his talent as a detective after he got into an accident and lost the ability to sleep. – Auth.) .
There are many roles, but I don’t really separate them – main or supporting roles. Previously, I strove for this more strongly, reflected, despaired. But then again I “got up from my knees” and realized that the path itself is important, and not the final goal: it is not known whether you will come to it or not, but the path and the experience gained will remain. In general, I have a lot of interesting work, experience, gratitude from the audience. People write in social networks, thank, meeting on the street. I’m not complaining, there were a lot of different adventures in the movie.
— How are things with a career abroad? You said that the agent receives offers from there as well. The talk of the town has become a comparison of you with Hollywood star Ryan Gosling.
“Now it’s ridiculous to talk about it seriously. And in general, I have always been useful to my country. Even when I played basketball (Yakushev received the title of master of sports. – Ed.), I played for the youth team of Moscow, we flew to a big tournament in Texas, I always said that I would be needed by my country (the actor implies that many players would like to stay in USA – the country of the strongest basketball in the world. – Auth.). And now I don’t give up.
“All my friends are divorced”
– Returning to the name of the new KION project: little is known about your civil status. Do you currently have a lover? Surely she is from the world of cinema?
– No, from the world of cinema I will no longer have any lovers. Unless it’s a lighting girl or makeup artist. Or the costumes. There will be no more actresses (previously, Danila had an affair with the star of Molodezhka, Maria Pirogova, and in an interview in 2019, the actor admitted that he was dating a girl named Raya, she was studying to be a vocalist. – Auth.). What is your attitude towards the institution of the family? Recently, more and more often they say that traditional marriage is outdated.
What is the institution of the family? Here I am 36 years old, I have never been married. All my friends are divorced. Some of them are not allowed to see the children. They already have a whole head gray from these nerves. Why do I need all this?
– Do you see yourself as a father? At least in the distant future.
I see it every year. By autumn.

– But it covers – I want a son! And someday I’ll get there. But I’m in no rush yet. As always.
– In addition to hobbies for painting, woodcarving, jewelry and shooting at a shooting range, you also do magic tricks. What is the most difficult trick learned relatively recently?
— I don’t learn tricks. I’ve just been showing them for over a decade. And that is usually very close people. That is, this is not a way to earn money in a club or bar. I have a personal program of six or seven tricks, which is enough for an evening in pleasant company.
– Can we say that acting, and if more broadly, then life in society, is also permanent micromagic?
Like theater, yes. Eternal magic. Gaslighting (a form of psychological abuse, which consists in manipulating, distorting information and denying facts. – Auth.).
