Danilo Gallinari is recovering well and wants to be back for the Playoffs

Victim of a cruciate ligament rupture last summer, Danilo Gallinari had to give up on his first season at the Celtics. But the veteran gave reassuring news about his state of health. Until imagining a return for the Playoffs..?

Seriously injured in the knee in August during the EuroBasket, the Italian must therefore be absent all season. But in an interview with the Italian blog Around the Game last night and comments relayed by Yahoo Sportsthe 35-year-old said his rehabilitation is going in the right direction.

“I respect what was the roadmap that we set ourselves at the beginning, the challenges and the objectives that we set each week, each month, so I would say that everything is going well” – Danilo Gallinari

Gallo also said he aims to return when the postseason in order to help his teammates during spring games… although that seems optimistic given the seriousness of the man’s injury and the time needed for recovery.

“It’s very difficult because we also calculate the protocols that have been put in place in the NBA in recent years in times of recovery. But it’s [les Playoffs] definitely the goal” – Danilo Gallinari

Danilo Gallinari still remains in contact with his teammates, taking part in the trips, in order to stay in the mood current. In the Celtics group, everyone is invited to participate, from near and far.

“I decided in agreement with the staff and the club to follow the team away to continue the work of rehabilitation, but also because I really like being in contact with them and following them closely. I’m happy, it’s a great group. It might be easier to fit in being a veteran and being the second oldest on the team. I can’t help but I’m satisfied” – Danilo Gallinari

In full swing, the Celtics remain on nine consecutive victories, obviously at the top of the Eastern Conference. A true favorite for the title, Boston is counting on everyone to win the ring, and await the return of your favorite Italian’s favorite Italian.
