David Furnish denounced the anti-LGBT+ policy put in place by Ron DeSantis in Florida.
The director and singer’s companion Elton John wrote in a column for The Independent newspaper that the governor of Florida, who announced his candidacy to be the Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, had implemented retrograde policies regarding the LGBTQ+ community.
He wrote: “I am incredibly grateful for the progress we have made in Britain and Canada. »
He added, “If I dropped my kids off at school in Florida, I doubt they would feel the same level of safety and acceptance within their community. »
In the past two years, Florida has passed laws banning gender and sexual orientation education.
In his article, Furnish also explained, “This is some of the most diabolically anti-Christian legislation ever devised. She is inhuman. Have we entered a time machine and returned to the dark ages? »
He added: “This barbaric man could be the next president of the United States. »
