Death Stranding Isolations Anime Trailer Released for Disney Plus

Death Stranding Isolations, a hand-drawn anime series produced by E&H Production and directed by Takayuki Sano, will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus in 2027.

Expanding the Universe Into Animation

Hideo Kojima is expanding his digital universe into episodic streaming. While Kojima serves as executive producer on the project, director Takayuki Sano leads the actual production at E&H Production. The studio is known for previous work on NINJA KAMUI, BULLET/BULLET, and Magic Knight Rayearth. The adaptation takes the form of a hand-drawn anime series.

Until recently, very little concrete information existed about the project beyond its planned streaming home. A newly released trailer and short synopsis have cleared up several narrative details. The story takes place in North America immediately after the events of the first game, just as Sam Porter Bridges reconnects the continent through the Chiral Network.

Consequences of the Chiral Network

This massive geographic reconnection brings unintended complications. The series follows characters who reject the newly established societal ties, such as a young girl who grows up in complete isolation and absolute silence following a massive disaster. She prefers living alone over socializing with other people.

Despite sharing its setting and timeline with Sam Porter Bridges’ journey across the continent, the series functions as a standalone narrative. It relies entirely on its own original characters and independent storylines rather than following the primary game protagonist.

Unresolved Schedule Details

Exact release dates and the total number of episodes remain unconfirmed by the production team. Disney Plus holds the exclusive streaming rights for the 2027 launch window.
