From September 2 to 11, 2022, the Deauville American Film Festival created in 1975 by Lionel Chouchan and André Halimi is celebrating its 48th edition.


The program of the Deauville festival 2022

This year, the American film festival has selected 60 films divided into 8 different categories.

The 13 films selected in competition are:

  • Dual the Riley Stearns
  • Emily The Criminal de John Patton Ford
  • Montana Story de Scott McGehee and David Siegel

  • Peace in the Valley de Tyler Riggs
  • Scrap by Vivian Kerr
  • Stay Awake by Jamie Sisley
  • The silent twins de Agnieszka Smoczyńska
  • War Pony by Gina Gammell and Riley Keough
  • Watcher de Chloé Okuno

An exceptional jury for this 48th edition

For this 48th edition of the festival, the jury will be made up of directors, actors, directors, screenwriters and writers. Among the members of the jury will be present personalities such as Alex Lutz, Sophie Letourneur, Léa Drucker or Pierre Deladonchamps. This year, the role of president of the 2022 jury will be awarded to Arnaud Desplechin, French director and screenwriter.

Three films to discover in preview of the Deauville 2022 festival

Without filter – Satirical comedy by director Ruben Östlund.

A model couple receives an invitation for a yacht cruise, but things don’t go as planned.

Don’t  worry darling – Thriller by director Olivia Wilde.

The film takes place in an experimental community in Victory in the 1950s. We follow the life of a couple Alice and Jack played by Harry Styles and Florence Pugh as new members of this community.

Blonde – Drama inspired by the life of Marilyn Monroe from director Andrew Dominik.

The film stars Ana De Armas as 1950s female icon Marilyn Monroe.
